Family history has speculated that Norman was buried in an unmarked grave in what is called the Dickey/Lynch Cementery in W.D. Floyd's listing. This is incorrect. Norman is buried in a marked grave in what I call the Norman Lynch Cemetery. This cemetery is located about 100 yards west of Lattimore Rd., toward the Broad River, in a small grove of trees. There are twelve marked graves and a small number of unmarked graves in the cemetery. Only three of the graves have readable headstones. Those of Norman and his daughter"s Emily and Lucilla. The cemetery was pointed out to me in March, 2003 by a member of the family who presently owns the land. In 1886 thirty six acres of Laxton's land was transferred to Norman. I think the cemetery in which Norman is buried is located on that land. Some family records have Norman dying in 1871. However this is incorrect. In June,1880 according to the census Norman was living in son-in law's Frances Wood and daughter Salina home in Rutherfordton, NC.
