Lynch, John Sr. (signs by mark) of Gr. Co., Will dated Aug. 31, 1753, prob. Dec. 6, 1757. To wife, Elizabeth use of one third of certain household goods untill her marriage or death: (2) to dau. Elizabeth 150 A. plantation where test. now lives, and sundry personalty, including “the Bed I now lie on”; (3) to dau. Nelly 150 A., being part of test. plantation, and sundry personalty; (4) “the remainder” of personal est. to be equally div. bet. the “ rest of my children”; (5) in case dauts. die before marriage or they reach 18 yrs of age, the suvivor hav the other portion and if both die the their part afsd. to be div. bet. “the Issue male of my beloved son William Lynch; $1 Lynch, William and (6) a bond for L26 (twenty-six pounds) current money of Va. Held by test. against his son Thomas to be div. bet. “the surviving of my children, except for my two dauts. Afsd. Exs: son-in law James Jinkins (sic) and friend Robert Parker. Wit: Thos. Parker, Joe Blakeney, Wm. Frohock. March 7, 1758 “James Jinkins one of the Executors” declined to serve, and the other, Robert Parker, relinquished his right, and Josepn Brantly apptd. Admr. cum testamento annexo. Id. p. 96 bond, Mch. 7, 1758: Joseph Brantly Admr; to Gov. Dobbs, pen L100 (one hundred pounds). Sur: Francis Mabry, Thomas Thorington, Christopher Johnson. Inv. Ret. To Ct. June 20 1758; refers to a part in possession of Nathan Megeehe (sic) ID. p. 106.

It is believed John Blakeney came to the colonies around 1750, possibly spending time in Pennsylvania before migrating south to the Carolinas. The first mention we find of him is witnessing the will of John Lynch in Granville County, NC in 1753. http://www.blakeneygazette.com/whowas.shtml
