Was a Sergeant - "The History of Old Tryon and Rutherford Counties" by Clarence W. Griffin, page 282 .

Reported present or accounted for through December, 1864. Appointed 3rd Lieutenant subsequent to January 16, 1865, to rank from October I, 1864. Killed by a sharpshooter near Petersburg, Virginia, in February, 1865.
