Lester Perry Pete Huffman 77 of Newton died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Davie Medical Center in Mocksville.

Born December 31, 1936 in Catawba County to the late Roy Oscar and Elsie Mauney Huffman.

Lester was retired from Carolina Mills.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Crouse Huffman, brothers, Vernon Huffman and James Huffman and a son Allen Young.

Survivors Include: Wife of 39 years: Brenda Hux Huffman Sons: Timothy Hux of Newton Jeffrey Hux of Newton Charles Young of Newton Daughters: Bridgette Braswell of Conover Janice Gee of Newton Shelia Crouse of Newton Brothers: Norman Huffman and wife Mabel Ruth of Lake Norman Brothers-In-Law: Max Martin of Hickory Dory Hux and wife Brenda of Newton Sisters-In-Law: Pat Pettry of Hickory Norma Dean Huffman of Newton Margaret Huffman of Newton, fourteen grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 1:00 at Bennett Funeral Service in Conover.

Newton, N.C. - Mrs. Ethel Wilson (Pat) Huffman, 42, wife of Lester P. Huffman, died Sunday morning at her home after a brief illness.

Native of Polk County; daughter of the late Clyde and Maude Lynch Wilson; retired weaver for Carolina Mills.

Also surviving: daughters, Sheila Crause of the home, Mrs. Johnny McCall of Newton; sisters, Mrs. Stanley Gibbs and Mrs. Roy Blackwell of Mill Spring, Mrs. Jimmy Castillo of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Gene Keller of Conover, N.C.; two grandchildren.

Services 2:30 today at Willis Reynolds Funeral Chapel; burial in Catawba Memorial Park.
