Marlow - JESS ROLAND DEMPSEY, 94, of Richardson, Texas, died Friday, Dec. 16, 1988, in Richardson, after a short illness.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Marlow Cemetery with Wayne Price officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.
Mr. Dempsey was born Aug. 15, 1894, in Marlow, Indian Territory. He was a former resident of the area and lived in Hale Center, Texas, 1955-1980, where he was a cotton ginner.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army in World War I.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Joyce Dempsey of Richardson; a brother, Tom Dempsey of Lubbock, Texas, and three grandchildren,Alan Dempsey of Los Angeles, Diane Dempsey of New York City, and Brian Dempsey of Lubbock; and one great-grandchild.
