Edna Mae Williams Ray, age 90 of Burnsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on July 26th, 2025. Born on March 22nd, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mae Hunter Williams. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tvanna Peterson, and brother, Leslie Williams.
Edna loved quilting, baking, canning crops from her garden, and reading a good book. She loved old country music, especially Marty Robbins. She had many hobbies, but she loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Bis Ray; sons;
Danny (Debbie) Ray, and Donnie (Pat) Ray; sisters: Eloise Warden of San Antonio, TX, and Judy (David) Buchanan of Burnsville, NC; grand-children: Amy Peterson, Emily (Tracy)
Winters, Telina (Ross) Burge, Shanna (Dwayne) McIntosh, Megan (Tru) Buchanan; great-grandchildren: Ethan Wilson, Corbin Arrowood, Jerica Woody, Victoria (London) Neill, Brenan Burge, Caleb (Serenity) Edwards, Devin (Megean) McIntosh, and Christopher McIntosh; great-great grandchildren: Bentley Winters, William Phillips, Carter Yokubinas, Finley Edwards, and Maggie McIntosh; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. for visitation. Rev.
Blair Harvey will be officiating. Interment will follow the service in the King Ray Family Cemetery in Burnsville, NC.
