Bertha Ruth Whiteside, 102, of Charlotte, formerly of Landrum died March 25, 2014. She was daughter of the late Alonzo and Mamer Nanney Whiteside.
She was a seamstress to the public and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by a daughter, Billie Jones of Charlotte; daughter in law, Rachel Whiteside of Landrum; 4 granddaughters; Tolya Turner of Landrum, Lisa Harrison and husband Jack of Charlotte, Cindy Morris of Iron Station and Kim Jones of Stanley; 1 grandson Randy Whiteside of Landrum and 1 great grandchild Alex Harrison of Charlotte. She was predeceased by a son, Jerrie Paul Whiteside.
She was predeceased by seven sisters and a brother.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm at the funeral chapel.
Burial will be in Green Creek First Baptist Church Cemetery.
