TRIBUTE PAID HOMER DAVIS AT CLARITA
Funeral Services for Homer Davis of Muskogee were held at Methodist church in Clarita Monday afternoon.
Rev. Bob Felix, pastor of the Wapanucka- Clarita Churches, conducted the services.
Born in Lawrence County, Ark. in 1892. Mr. Davis lived in Coal county for several years before moving to Muskogee where he was employed with a railway. He is survived by his wife Virgie Pounds Davis. Muskogee. one son Stanley Davis who is in the army; three sisters, Mrs. A. P. Scott Tuplo Mrs. Zella Gilbert, Calif and Mrs. Rose Stratton, Enid. three brothers, C. C. "Crock" Davis, Bromide; R. E. Davis, Clarita, and Dave Davis of Ada.
Pall bearers included John E. Grigsby, Sam Nelson, George Mcmillan, Harvey Carter and Bruce Carter, Jr. Clarita and Vernon Cauthron Coalgate.
Among out-of-town relatives at Clarita were Mrs. Mose James, Wapanucka; Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Scott, Tupelo; Mr. and Mrs. Quint Scott and family, Midwest City; Mrs. Sherman Drennon and family, Tupelo; Mr. and Mrs. Crock Davis, Bromide; Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Davis, Bromide; Mrs and Mrs. Bill Davis, Borger, Texas; Mrs. Lulla Garner, Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davis, Pryor; Mrs. Eldon Farris, Shawnee; and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Davis of Coalgate.
Masonic rites were held at the graveside.
Burial was at Wapanucka.

Death Claims Virgie Davis
Funeral services were held for Virgie Lucille Davis Monday at the Methodist church in Clarita with Rev. Charles R. Janssen conducting.
Mrs. Davis died Friday in an Ada hospital at the age of 82. She was born August 10, 1894 in Indian Territory to Robert and Lula Jane Hearrell..
She married Homer Davis on October 18, 1814 near Clarita. He preceded her in death in 1955.
Survivors include a sister, Lula Ray Garner, Coalgate; a half sister, Ruth Taylor, Clarita; a half brother, Taylor Pound. Bromide and a grandchild. One son Stanley Davis, preceded her in death in 1955.
Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery with Jim Epperson Funeral Service in charge.
