First married to Margaret Luizzia Green-Thompson, who was the mother of all of his children, Pearl, Walter, William Wesley, Jr, Harold, Grover, Margaret and Jessie. She died in 1922 and he remarried to Nora Anne McDaniel-Elliot.

WW Thompson
William W Thompson 63, died at his home on Route 5, near Arcadia, Saturday night. He had been in declining health for a number of years.
Surviving are: His wife Mrs Nora Thompson; 4 sons; Walter B of Saluda, NC, William W. Jr of route 5, Harold of Route 6 and Grover L Thompsonof Greenville; 3 daughters, Mrs Carl Quinn of Campobello, Route 1, Mrs W B Foster of Spartanburg, and Mrs Jesse Petty of Route 5; 3 brothers Jim Thompson of Gastonia, NC, Joe Thompson of Enoree and Roland Thompson of Spartanburg; a sister Mrs Lena Garrett of Spartanburg and 17 grandchildren.
Mr Thompson was a member of Haynes Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. He lived in Spartanburg all his life.
Funeral services will be conducted at MW Bobo Funeral Chapel by Rev Dallas Mathis Monday at 4:30 pm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Further arrangements will be announced by the mortuary.

Funeral services for WW Thompson 62 who died Saturday night will be held this afternoon at 4:30 at the MW Bobo Funeral Chapel.
The Revs Dallas Mathis and Allen Smith will officaite. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be: Kirk Neely, W E Morrison, G E Owens, R P Winters, Harold F Kay and the Rev Montgomery Duncan.


***Although this obituary states siblings names were Thompson they actually changed their name to Lynch when their father Otis Nelson Thompson/Lynch took his fathers last name around 1900-1904 (After his mother Selena Thompson died). Wesley was the oldest and already had children when his father decided to start using his rightful surname and Wesley chose to continue using the name he had used since birth "Thompson". His sisters both married using the name Thompson, but when they died their obituaries and death certificates list Lynch as their maiden names.
