William was the first of ten known children born to John Whiteside, Jr and Eleanor Kelly Whiteside. He and Elizabeth Ledbetter married 19 July 1805 in Rutherford Co, NC. Obituary
Departed this life in Polk Cty North Carolina on Sunday 12th January AD 1862 Sister Elizabeth Whiteside Consort of William Whiteside and daughter of Richard Ledbetter, after a lingering and painful disease of Dropsy, Sister Whiteside was born in Rutherford County NC 21th July 1788 Aged seventy three years five months & twenty six days, she was the Mother of fifteen Children Fleven of whom are a live and with one exception all of them are members of the Baptist Church. Sister Whiteside was baptised into the fellowship of the Bills Creek Church by Elder ? W Patterson in the year 1840. she removed her membership and was tne members that the Rockspring Church Polt Cty No Carolina was constituded with. Sister Whiteside was a good Mother and affectionate Wife and a devoted member of the Church. She died in the full bennfits of faith
