Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Hendrix, age 91, of Gilkey Community died Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC.

She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of Rector Mills McDaniel and Sally Lynch McDaniel.

Lib worked with the Stamey Corp. at age 16 then went to work for B.C. Moore and managed Moselle Smith's Dress Shop until she retired.

She was also active in her family business untill her passing.

Lib was a member of Union Mills Presbyterian Church and was the oldest living member until her passing.

She was the widow of Monteith "Mon" Monroe Hendrix and was preceded in death by her brothers James McDaniel, William "Penny" McDaniel and Charles McDaniel.

Mrs. Hendrix will be laid to rest beside her husband at Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Mills.

McMahan's Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.
